In Memoriam - Robert McGregor (Koldbear)

Robert McGregor (Koldbear) - the other main contributor to these pages, died on Sunday 22nd Feb 2004

With no apology, I will pay my respects to a person who I hope I was able to call 'friend'

Robert was a very knowledgeable user of Windows - and what he knew, he knew extremely well. Over the years, he gathered a reputation for 'not suffering fools gladly' (and perhaps also women<:-?>) I personally never found him to be other than a gentleman, although I have to admit that some of his posts left a little diplomacy to be desired.

He was one of the first people in the MS newsgroups with which I had contact - and eventually came to respect his knowledge (if not so much his politics) and willingness to help.

It was as a result of this, that when I decided to set up this site, and Robert also happened to be considering options, that I offered to host whatever he wanted here.

I was pleasantly surprised at how easy he was to work with, and how prepared he was to consider other opinions (not something he'd shown any great aptitude for in the NG's) - at least in terms of presentation.

I have no doubt that my life is richer for having known him - and this site is definitely the poorer for having lost him

Robert - your friends (and even your sparring-partners) in the Newsgroups will miss you, may you fare well in wherever you have gone.
